CGL Profile Plank System
CGL's "Profiled Plank" system is a fully drained and ventilated façade which forms the external aesthetic element of a multi-layer wall. The panels are supported by the CS1 extruded aluminium grid which offers variety of zone widths and excellent adjustability. The Profiled Plank system follows on the success of the CGL Wallplank System in a strip affect but provides for a sloping face. This new sloping look brings a feel and image of depth to the cladding system.
The system protects the structural backing wall from the effects of wind and weather. CGL continues to offer a full design package with the product which incorporates the panels and support grid, together with flashing and ancillary materials to complete the facade. Structural integrity of the system is critical and this design is always a priority for CGL Systems.

The choice of finishes and colours in these metals is huge, giving designers and architects real choice of appearance, weathering and longevity. Recent years have seen interesting developments in the use of coloured Pre-Weathered Zinc and also Copper alloys.
Planking systems, whether Profiled or Wall plank, are economic facade options as the use of thin metals (1.0 and 1.2mm thick) is standard and the support grid is simple but effective and easy to install.
Panels are available in a standard modular width of 250mm although specials from 220 to 275mm are available. Panel lengths vary dependent upon material choice from 2950 to 3750mm. The materials come in thicknesses of 1.0 and 1.2mm and the choice will be dictated by structural requirements on a job-by-job basis. The CS1 Support grid can provide zonal depths of between 64 and 167mm.
